YouTube’s default HTML5 players for supporting more devices


YouTube has made an announcement today that its Web video player would be now defaulting to HTML5 through Adobe Flash which gives more flexibility for bloggers, developers and consumers.

The team had worked on switching to HTML5 players that was reportedly marked by numerous technical issues YouTube would also be making use of MediaSource Extensions for running smooth live streams on many devices, including the Playstation 4, Xbox One, Chromecast and other popular Web browsers like Safari 8, Chrome, and IE 11.

This is being seen as overdue for the company in making this standard platform available.
